I have to apologize - I have been such a bad, bad blogger! I know I promised to let you in on my big plans last week, but as the saying goes, "Life is what happens when you're busy making plans." Last week was a little busy around here. I won't go on and on with all the details but long story short, one of the kids got sick and then shared it with all of the rest and then we had fun with "pink eye." I decided it would be best to put all plans on hold for a bit until everyone is better. I'm not going to keep you hanging for too long though, I promise! Besides, I'm too excited to wait - but will have to give it a couple more days.
In the meantime, I wanted to share with you a couple of super cute picnic baskets I found while out with my mom a couple of weeks ago at the Salvation Army store. I have decided to use them in our front entry foyer to hold hats, gloves etc... I made a few lavender sachets to put in there with them to keep everything fresh and sweet smelling. Plus, lavender is a great bug repellent. It'll keep those pesky moths that always seem to fly in the door on summer evenings away from the wool hats and scarves!
Enjoy your day everyone!
xo,
Kathleen

Sweet lavender and even sweeter multi purpose baskets... lovely!
Do you grow your own lavender? I tried last summer but I killed it. :(
Love the baskets - what a great idea!
I just saw one at the salvation army-
didn't buy it darn it.
Glad to see you are okay...everyone seems busy these days!! :)
I totally love Lavendar anything! This is lovely! ~CC Catherine
How beautiful! Hope you and yours are well for Mother's Day. I always enjoy reading your blog.
Lavender is a tough one for me to grow. I have tried several varieties, and within 2 years it has grown all woody and ugly. I still get the flowers, but the plant itself is so ugly I want to hoik it out of the ground! I envy those fields of lavender I see in photos from France....so beautiful, and such a dark purple!
It's so nice to hear from you and I'm praying the family is feeling better very soon.
The baskets are great and one has to love the wonders of lavender. Isn't it a blessing...the beauty God has given us in nature?
Blessings:)
Hi Kathleen. Thank you so much for sening her a card. I know it will make her day.
I love your photos. Where did you find your lavendar buds? I've been looking everywhere and it's all so pricey for such a little amount.

Hi Kathleen! I'm so glad you stopped by! We've probably passed each other at some point since I'm always down in the Leesburg/Dulles area shopping!!! It really is a small world I agree! Love love lavender. This year I plan on catching my one plant in time so I can make sachets too! Every year I admire it and then forget to cut!lol Love the baskets too; so handy for sooo many things; they'd probably end up holding all my magazines I keep reading over and over!lol Hope you are all feeling better by now! Have a great week - Jeannette
