Simple Beauty

We are having family over for Easter this year and I decided to take a break from tidying up and rearranging to do a quick post! Does anyone else get the sudden urge to start rearranging furniture when company is coming? Having people over is a definite motivator to finish up those projects and get organized. My husband and boys were out yesterday cleaning up the gardens for the backyard egg hunt and while out they decided to take a walk through the field behind our house. Look at these beautiful flowers they picked for me. Wasn't that sweet? I just love them! I put them in my favorite old mason jar in a sunny window.

I also wanted to share this old Finnish mail sack that I found. See that photo up at the top? I was so surprised and extremely pleased to find it because they are so rare around here where we live. And...it was actually affordable. I didn't have to get a home equity loan to buy it - hee hee!

For now it is draped over this old chair next to the fireplace in our family room. I'm really enjoying having it! I have always wanted to find one to make pillows out of, but now that I have it, I don't have the heart to bring a pair of scissors anywhere near it - go figure!!

Anyway, I hope you all are enjoying this Holy Week and I wish you many Easter Blessings!

xo,

Kathleen

I know exactly how you feel about the scissors! I'm a wreck for the first snip of a beloved textile. It looks great where it is...until you get the courage to snip away.:)

Definitely..having guests always makes me scurry and clean up, finish things and rearrange a bit!

Those flowers look lovely in the jar and I love the sack...sometimes it's just being able to look at something that gives us pleasure that can add that special something to a moment in time.

Happy Easter and many blessings to you and your family.

Love the French music on your blog! Your mail bag is lovely-I've heard Finland is a fabulous country. My mother used to move furniture all the time. I would come in from a date and trip over a chair or whatever, so I don't tend to move furniture around to much, but accessories are another story, I'm moving them around obsessively! L.O.L.

I also start second-guessing everything and wanting to redo everything just before we have guests. It's natural i guess. Love the new grain sack - I have NEVER seen one that's affordable, so good for you! Thanks BTW for your comment on my blog - loved it!

What a lovely mail sack you have found. It really is quite rare.
I'm from Finland and never saw that before. Great found, indeed!
