Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, "I am the light of the world; he who follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."
John 8:12

Today, wonderful husband and I celebrate 10 years of marriage! What a gloriously blessed day! We have come so far and have been through so much together - births, losses, celebrations, good days and not so good ones - we have weathered them all - together, side by side as one. I am so thankful to have been blessed with such a wonderful man!!
Thank you my love, for ten wonderful years!!
I'm so happy to be back!! I have missed everyone very much and I've missed not being able to sign in and go blog visiting any time I wanted to!
I think it'll do for the upcoming summer farmer's markets too!
Inspired by Laeriss at Heart in Provence, I decided to change the hall table vignette. I had an old birdcage similar to hers and I loved the way hers looked so I decided to try something like it. My euonymous bushes in the front needed trimming so I used the clippings from them instead of boxwood.
We are having family over for Easter this year and I decided to take a break from tidying up and rearranging to do a quick post! Does anyone else get the sudden urge to start rearranging furniture when company is coming? Having people over is a definite motivator to finish up those projects and get organized. My husband and boys were out yesterday cleaning up the gardens for the backyard egg hunt and while out they decided to take a walk through the field behind our house. Look at these beautiful flowers they picked for me. Wasn't that sweet? I just love them! I put them in my favorite old mason jar in a sunny window.
I also wanted to share this old Finnish mail sack that I found. See that photo up at the top? I was so surprised and extremely pleased to find it because they are so rare around here where we live. And...it was actually affordable. I didn't have to get a home equity loan to buy it - hee hee!
For now it is draped over this old chair next to the fireplace in our family room. I'm really enjoying having it! I have always wanted to find one to make pillows out of, but now that I have it, I don't have the heart to bring a pair of scissors anywhere near it - go figure!!
Anyway, I hope you all are enjoying this Holy Week and I wish you many Easter Blessings!
xo,
Kathleen
And as they were eating, he took bread, and blessed, and broke it, and gave it to them, and said, "Take; this is my body." And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, and they all drank of it. And he said to them, "This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many. Truly I say to you, I shall not drink again of the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new in the kingdom of God.
I have decided to start the laundry room re-do next month. That way, I'm not rushed to get it done before Easter, and I have a free week in mid-may that will be perfect to use to work on it. In the meantime, I have another fun little pillow project to share. Yesterday was a very rainy day so it quickly became a perfect sewing day. I pulled out my cotton and my burlap stash and got to work.
I decided to use a fleur-de-lis stencil and some black fabric paint for this project. I used the unbleached cotton (a.k.a. linen on the cheap) for two of the pillows and burlap for the third. I just stenciled the design, let it dry thoroughly and then sewed the panels into pillows. Stuff it with your fluff of choice and sew it shut.
