Sunday Reflections

Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, "I am the light of the world; he who follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."

Sunny, Happy Day!!

Today, wonderful husband and I celebrate 10 years of marriage! What a gloriously blessed day! We have come so far and have been through so much together - births, losses, celebrations, good days and not so good ones - we have weathered them all - together, side by side as one. I am so thankful to have been blessed with such a wonderful man!! Thank you my love, for ten wonderful years!!

I'm Back Up and Running!!!

I'm so happy to be back!! I have missed everyone very much and I've missed not being able to sign in and go blog visiting any time I wanted to!

While away from the computer, I did a little organizing and cleaning out of my craft room. I came across a large fabric scrap that I had left over from a laundry bag that I made awhile back so I decided to make a new library/market tote for myself. My old canvas bag that I always used for hauling books back and forth to the library was getting so worn so I decided to make another instead of buying one. This was the perfect solution!!
I think it'll do for the upcoming summer farmer's markets too!

On another note...
I have been doing some serious thinking these past couple of months and have decided to start something new and exciting. I can't wait to reveal what I've been working on so stay tuned!! As I get closer to completion, I will give you all of the exciting details so please be sure to stop by and visit often!!
~~ I'm thinking sometime next week (wink, wink) ~~

Until then, xoxoxo and I thank you all for your warm, thoughtful comments while I was away! I hope everyone is enjoying the lovely Spring weather and all of those pretty flowers starting to pop up everywhere!

God Bless,
Kathleen

Computer Woes!!

Wow! You just don't realize how much you rely on your computer until you don't have it! Mine was infected with a nasty virus - several actually, and my brother is in the process of trying to fix it for me. The crazy thing is, I never open strange links, all of my emails are scanned for viruses before they will open and I NEVER visit weird websites. I just don't know, I guess these things happen sometimes. Anyway, I just wanted to check in, say hello and let you know I will be back soon. I'm at the library right now using theirs so I don't have any pictures to share today but I look foward to being back! Have a wonderful weekend everyone and God Bless!

Spring Fluffing

Inspired by Laeriss at Heart in Provence, I decided to change the hall table vignette. I had an old birdcage similar to hers and I loved the way hers looked so I decided to try something like it. My euonymous bushes in the front needed trimming so I used the clippings from them instead of boxwood.
An angel to keep watch

I even had enough left over to make a wreath!

The sweet old bird is enjoying his new nest.

Blessings to you all!

Simple Beauty

We are having family over for Easter this year and I decided to take a break from tidying up and rearranging to do a quick post! Does anyone else get the sudden urge to start rearranging furniture when company is coming? Having people over is a definite motivator to finish up those projects and get organized. My husband and boys were out yesterday cleaning up the gardens for the backyard egg hunt and while out they decided to take a walk through the field behind our house. Look at these beautiful flowers they picked for me. Wasn't that sweet? I just love them! I put them in my favorite old mason jar in a sunny window.

I also wanted to share this old Finnish mail sack that I found. See that photo up at the top? I was so surprised and extremely pleased to find it because they are so rare around here where we live. And...it was actually affordable. I didn't have to get a home equity loan to buy it - hee hee!

For now it is draped over this old chair next to the fireplace in our family room. I'm really enjoying having it! I have always wanted to find one to make pillows out of, but now that I have it, I don't have the heart to bring a pair of scissors anywhere near it - go figure!!

Anyway, I hope you all are enjoying this Holy Week and I wish you many Easter Blessings!

Kathleen

Sunday Reflections

And as they were eating, he took bread, and blessed, and broke it, and gave it to them, and said, "Take; this is my body." And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, and they all drank of it. And he said to them, "This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many. Truly I say to you, I shall not drink again of the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new in the kingdom of God.
Mark 14:22-25

Another Fun Pillow Project for You

I have decided to start the laundry room re-do next month. That way, I'm not rushed to get it done before Easter, and I have a free week in mid-may that will be perfect to use to work on it. In the meantime, I have another fun little pillow project to share. Yesterday was a very rainy day so it quickly became a perfect sewing day. I pulled out my cotton and my burlap stash and got to work. I decided to use a fleur-de-lis stencil and some black fabric paint for this project. I used the unbleached cotton (a.k.a. linen on the cheap) for two of the pillows and burlap for the third. I just stenciled the design, let it dry thoroughly and then sewed the panels into pillows. Stuff it with your fluff of choice and sew it shut.
And there you have it - instant French decor!
I hope everyone is enjoying this spring Saturday morning. Have a blessed weekend!

Kathleen
